Gabriela is a beautiful 18-inch doll dressed in a performance-inspired outfit. Unlike past Girl of the Year dolls, as the 15th Girl of the Year, Gabriela will be available throughout 2017 and beyond. To make sure Gabriela’s inspiring message is shared and to bring awareness to spoken word poetry, American Girl is partnering with Scholastic to create and distribute Express Yourself. The program Express Yourself was designed to empower students to use the arts as a tool for self-expression. Teachers can access these tools in March 2017 to encourage students to find their creative voices, just in time for National Poetry Month in April.
